Welcome to Tzintzun Clothing

Like every migrant woman, I carry nostalgia, memories, traditions, and culture with me. One way to comfort that nostalgia was through my attire because it makes me feel close to home.

I know that handcrafted textiles tell stories, reflecting the worldview and cultural richness of the peoples of Mexico and Central America. I learned that they are unique and imperfect pieces, exactly like us. I learned that it is a precise and slow activity that doesn’t create disposable clothing, but rather quality pieces that can be passed down. I learned about, and want to share all this knowledge - that’s how Tzintzun Clothing was born.

One of the basic principles of this project is the respect and value of true craftsmanship. It is a project that works directly with artisans in a fair, and ethical way.

Tzintzun is a purépecha word meaning hummingbird.
